Cleveland Marathon Announces Partnership with PSI Solutions

TWINSBURG—(April 18, 2024)—For the second consecutive year, PSI Solutions, an ESS Company, and the Cleveland Marathon have announced a partnership to support local schools, students, and community members in the field of education during race weekend and beyond.

“We are thrilled to once again be partnering with the Cleveland Marathon to raise the power of education,” said Meredith Sitko, Executive Director at PSI. “We believe partnership is critical to success in all arenas; it’s certainly the foundation of our model. This initiative showcases our commitment to the whole child, as well as the whole educator, by promoting both physical and mental well-being.”

PSI will host the “Education Station” during the race at PSI Partner School, Metro Catholic, located on the marathon route. The station will provide an exclusive hub for PSI Partner School community members and PSI Team Members to cheer on and support their family and friends running in the race, as well as network and fellowship with colleagues in the education field.

In addition, PSI will sponsor a student race team from one of its Partner schools at the Cleveland Marathon 5K. PSI is also a UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital’s Official School Health and Educational Support Services Partner.

McLendon Foundation Partners with Helix Ventures

Established in 1999 under the guidance of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), the McLendon Foundation is committed to increasing diverse representation in sports. To this end, the Foundation administers two flagship programs aimed at creating access and opportunity for minorities.

The McLendon Postgraduate Scholarship Program awards eight (8) $10,000 scholarships annually to candidates pursuing master’s degrees in athletics administration or sport management. The recipients are known as McLendon Scholars, and the Foundation has awarded over $1.4 million in scholarship dollars since the program’s inception.

Additionally, the McLendon Leadership Initiative (MLI) offers meaningful employment experiences that accelerate career growth and expand professional horizons within the sports sector. MLI participants are known as McLendon Fellows. The MLI began in 2020 and since then, the Foundation has donated over $5.8 million to fellowships across the country. Together, McLendon Scholars and Fellows are collectively known as Torchbearers.
